CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. (September 24, 2026) — Due to various events planned throughout the downtown Charles Town area this weekend, pedestrian traffic is expected to significantly increase as thousands of visitors are expected to arrive in the area, beginning Friday afternoon through Sunday evening.
The Charles Town Police Department says motorists should plan accordingly and use extreme caution when traveling though the downtown area.
Pedestrians are reminded to use sidewalks where available and to cross at designated pedestrian crossings
