Summers County man charged after allegedly cutting off home-confinement bracelet

SUMMERS COUNTY, W.V. — A Summers County man is back in custody after authorities say he cut off his home-confinement bracelet and fled.

The Summers County Sheriff’s Office said 52-year-old Ronald Ward was reportedly spotted in Mercer County and was believed to be heading toward the Pipestem area.

After several hours of surveillance and searching, deputies Lowry and Starcher located the vehicle Ward was reportedly driving. Additional deputies arrived, and Ward was taken into custody without incident, according to the sheriff’s office.
