{"id":57,"date":"2026-09-22T22:33:19","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T02:33:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radio.wvrcdev.com\/wkmznews\/construction-worker-identified-in-fatal-monongalia-county-accident\/"},"modified":"2026-09-29T15:16:11","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T19:16:11","slug":"construction-worker-identified-in-fatal-monongalia-county-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radio.wvrcdev.com\/wkmznews\/construction-worker-identified-in-fatal-monongalia-county-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Construction worker identified in fatal Monongalia County accident"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>FAIRMONT, W.Va.<\/strong> \u2014 State police say a construction site worker died following a workplace accident on I-79 in Mononglia County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two others were injured after being knocked off a bridge by a large crane at an Interstate 79 construction site Tuesday morning near the Monongalia-Marion county line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The investigating trooper said a heavy crane being used on the bridge construction site malfunctioned at 9:45 a.m. The crane caused concrete barriers to strike the three workers knocking them off the bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mickey Swisher, 30, of Morgantown, died at the scene.
